Pairing the right wine with the right meal is an art form with a long history. While pairing meals with craft brewed beers and cocktails is fairly new, Wine Sommeliers have been in restaurants since the French Revolution, assisting guests by recommending the perfect wine to accompany their meal.

It was at that time, (during the French Revolution) that restaurants, in the sense that we think of them now, were really born. Sommeliers were not far behind. The word Sommelier is French and can be translated as “wine waiter”, “cellarman”, or “wine butler”. Wine has been a part of human culture for ages. Archaeologists believe that wine production extends all the way back to the Paleolithic era. Want to learn more?
